Can the Scots repeat their victory from the 2019 tournament now that we finally get to see Peter Wright and Gary Anderson together again?

Ranking: 3
Players: Peter Wright / Gary Anderson

Wright and Anderson became champions back in 2019. When Scotland won again in 2021, it was Wright alongside John Henderson who lifted the trophy. Now, the Scots have a new chance to become champions together.

Last year, they proved they work well together on stage. After a solid 8-2 win against Poland in the round of 16, Scotland needed a deciding leg to beat Sweden in the quarterfinals. Delivering under pressure on the big stage is not easy, but Scotland has shown they can handle it, making them strong contenders in this year’s tournament.

Their run ended in the semifinals last year against England, and the feeling is that Wright and Anderson will do everything they can to spoil what is expected to be a Luke (Lamb) celebration this year.

It will be exciting to see if they let Anderson start the legs. We all know the incredibly high level Anderson can bring to his game, and if Wright can find his rhythm from the start, this could be a great success!
