It started simply enough: a Swedish website, a passion for darts and a belief that the sport deserved better coverage in Swedish. Dartkanalen.se began as a small project but grew quickly as darts themselves grew. It didn’t take long to realise that the same need existed in other countries – fans who wanted to read about their sport in their own language, without having to rely on English sources. Today, we’re proud to have grown into a network spanning eight European countries, from Scandinavia to the Iberian Peninsula, from the British Isles to the Baltics. The journey has only just begun.
Darts is Growing Across Europe
The PDC has actively expanded beyond the UK in recent years. The European Tour brings competitions to new markets, the World Series of Darts reaches even further, and more players from the continent are breaking into the tour. It shows clearly in the results – players from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Portugal and the Nordic countries are now competing at the highest level. With that growth comes an increased need for local coverage in local languages. That’s exactly what we’re trying to contribute.
