Croatia has been placed in a truly challenging group in this year’s World Cup of Darts. It will require team captain Boris Krcmar to perform at his best for Croatia to advance.
Players: Pero Ljubić / Boris Krcmar
Ranking: 15
On paper, Group K is this year’s “hornet’s nest” in the World Cup of Darts, featuring Croatia, Switzerland, and Japan. We see this as a very tough draw for Croatia, which impressed greatly in last year’s tournament. At that time, Boris Krcmar teamed up with Romeo Grbavac. The pair performed well in the group stage, defeating Canada and Malaysia. In the round of 16, Croatia pulled off a huge upset by beating Wales 8-6. The quarterfinal against Austria became one of the best matches in World Cup of Darts history, going all the way to a deciding leg, where Austria ultimately won. Remarkably, Croatia averaged over 95 in doubles, which is very high for doubles play. This year, Romeo Grbavac has been replaced by Pero Ljubić.
Croatia’s first match will be an exciting one against Japan, and we’re looking forward to following Group K closely since all the teams seem evenly matched.
