Luke Littler continues to rewrite the history of darts. On 23 November 2025, the 18-year-old Englishman claimed the Players Championship Finals title with an impressive 11-8 victory over Nathan Aspinall. The tournament, held in Minehead, England, once again showcased Littler’s trademark control and consistency.

In the final, Littler immediately showed why he is the world number one. He maintained yet another three-figure average and sealed the match with a clinical 88 checkout. Throughout the tournament, he surpassed a 100 average in every single match, with his lowest, an extraordinary 102.67 in the third round, underlining his dominance.

This victory brings Littler to a total of nine PDC major titles, already placing him fourth on the all-time list.

Only three players have won more majors: Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and James Wade.

Considering Littler has competed on the PDC tour for just two seasons, his achievements become even more remarkable.

His 2025 season has been historic. Winning six majors in a single calendar year is something only Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen had accomplished before him.

Littler now heads into the 2026 World Darts Championship, starting in just over two weeks, as the overwhelming favourite. The question is: can he become the first player since Gary Anderson to win back-to-back world titles? Anderson did so in 2015 and 2016.
