The group stage of this year’s Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts 2025 delivered everything dart fans could hope for: drama, emotion, and pure magic on stage. Luke Humphries hit a flawless nine-darter in his match against Michael Smith; Beau Greaves stole the hearts of the crowd with her high-class performance despite exiting early; and several new names surprised by advancing to the knockout rounds.
Beau Greaves entered the tournament as an underdog but once again proved why she is one of dart’s most promising talents. Even though she didn’t progress from her group, she produced three elite matches against Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson, and Niko Springer.
Against van Gerwen, she forced a deciding leg and missed only one chance at 52 for the win. Versus Anderson, she lost 4–5, but set a new record average of 102.46 – the highest ever by a woman in a televised PDC match. She then bounced back to beat Springer 5–3 after being 0–3 down. The crowd backed her throughout the event, and despite the exit, she was undoubtedly one of the biggest talking points of the group stage.
World number one Luke Humphries showed why he’s at the top of the dart world. In a tight Group A battle with Michael Smith, he sealed a superb comeback by throwing a nine-darter – the perfect leg – to clinch a 5–3 win. That performance secured him the group win and set the tone for the knockout stage.
Gary Anderson, James Wade, and Stephen Bunting all failed to reach the knockout phase. Luke Littler continues to dominate and won his group after convincing displays, including against Connor Scutt, who produced a 170 finish himself. Debutants Jurjen van der Velde, Niko Springer, and Lukas Wenig all reached the Last 16 in their first Grand Slam appearance – a clear generational shift is underway in the PDC.
