Taiwan was a positive surprise in last year’s tournament, and now they come into this year’s championship hoping to take it one step further.

It was quite an upset last year when they knocked out Ireland in the final group stage match. In that match, Teng Lieh Pupo and An-Sheng Lu showed great skill, and it will be exciting to see how the team has developed this year. Taiwan is in Group J along with India and the Czech Republic. Taiwan will skip the first match, and it looks likely that the decisive match will be against the Czech Republic on the evening of June 13. We are fairly certain both teams will defeat India. It will be interesting to see if the experienced Pupo and the young Lu can find the same energy together this year because if they do, they could be a very tough pair for most countries to face!
