Host nation Germany has high expectations for their team in this year’s World Cup of Darts. Could it finally be their time to claim the top spot on the podium?

Ranking: 7
Players: Martin Schindler / Ricardo Pietreczko

Germany was eliminated already in the round of 16 by Northern Ireland in last year’s tournament. This year, Martin Schindler has a new partner in Ricardo Pietreczko, who has surpassed Gabriel Clemens in the world rankings.

Germany is drawn into Group C, where they open with a match against Portugal and finish with a game against Singapore. The draw, placing Portugal as the first opponent, is seen as positive for Germany—especially since Paul Lim from Singapore will have to play two matches on the same day due to the group setup.

It will be interesting to see how the Schindler/Pietreczko pairing works together. Martin Schindler has had a strong 2025 season so far, including one victory on the European Tour and one in the Players Championship.

If the German duo can harness the energy from their home crowd, they have every chance to advance far in this year’s tournament.
