Finland received a favorable draw for this year’s tournament and is heading to the World Cup of Darts with hopes of reaching the knockout stage.
Ranking: 16
Players: Teemu Harju / Marko Kantele
Finland faces an uncertain Group L, which includes Argentina and New Zealand alongside them. The key match for the Finnish duo Harju/Kantele will be their opening game against New Zealand.
An advantage for Finland is that they fielded the same team in last year’s tournament. Back then, they were outmatched by both host nation Germany and New Zealand. For this year, especially Teemu Harju has stepped up his game, as seen notably in the PDC Nordic & Baltic qualifiers. Harju must play at a higher level for Finland to challenge within this group.
Although Finland is seeded in the group, it would be considered a major success if the Finnish pair manages to advance to the weekend knockout stages.
